Behaviour Seminars

Understanding dog behaviour is something that humans need to learn. It is important we appreciate that a dog does not think and act as we do, and as such their ways of behaving and communicating may prove difficult for us to understand.

In order that we may communicate with our dogs, we need to understand the way they think in order to understand why they behave as they do!

Behaviour problems can arise when the structure within a household is out of balance and both owner and dog are struggling to communicate with each other. Problems may also arise from many other issues and recognising what your dog is trying to tell you, and indeed how your own behaviour affects him, is a skill which all owners will benefit from.

Progress Dog Training holds seminars which are designed to help owners gain the knowledge to help promote a healthy and happy relationship between owners and their dogs. You will receive handouts relevant to the subjects covered.

You may benefit from attending a behaviour seminar if you:

  • Feel you are having difficulty communicating with your dog and may already be experiencing behaviour problems.
  • Are thinking of bringing a new puppy into your home.
  • Planning on providing a home for a 'rescue dog'.
  • Already own a dog and simply wish to learn more about them.
  • Working with dogs
  • Studying animal care

The seminars focus on:

  • How dogs think and learn
  • Body Language
  • Training your dog
  • Aggression
  • Common Behaviour Problems

Puppy Seminars

Many new owners, especially those not having owned a dog before, really benefit from the advice offered at these seminars.

We know that while bringing a new puppy home can be very exciting, it can also be very hard work.

There are many issues to deal with such as housetraining, play-biting, chewing and keeping you up at night!

Sometimes, owners find it difficult to cope with these problems and they need to learn how best to train their puppy without damaging their relationship with them.

You may benefit from attending a Puppy Seminar if you:
  • Are already living with your new puppy
  • Are waiting for your new puppy to arrive!
  • Considering getting a new puppy in the future.
The Seminars focus on:
  • Housetraining
  • Play-Biting
  • Chewing
  • Night Time
  • Feeding
  • Barking / Attention Seeking
  • Pack Hierarchy
  • Timing & Rewards

Also available at seminars:

  • Useful Training Accessories and Products
  • Information on Training and Behaviour
